Dubai, April 21, 2026 – The latest ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings have witnessed significant movement, with players from India and South Africa making big strides following an exciting start to the five-match series in Durban.

Shafali Verma Climbs to Sixth

India opener Shafali Verma has advanced two places to sixth position in the batting rankings after a blistering 38-ball 57 in the second T20I. Her knock included two sixes and four fours, though it wasn’t enough to prevent an eight-wicket defeat for the visitors.

The series now stands at 2-0 in favor of South Africa, who also won the opening match by six wickets. The action now shifts from Durban to Johannesburg for the remaining games.

Ripple Effects at the Top

Verma’s rise has pushed West Indies captain Hayley Matthews down one slot to third place.

Meanwhile, India captain Harmanpreet Kaur has moved up two places to joint-11th after an unbeaten 47 off 33 balls in the first T20I.

Wolvaardt Holds Firm in Fifth

South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt remains the leading run-scorer of the series so far with 105 runs, including scores of 51 and 54. She stays steady at fifth place among batters.

Big Leaps for Dercksen and Luus

  • Annerie Dercksen jumped 18 slots to 33rd after hitting an unbeaten 44 in the second match.

  • Suné Luus climbed from 43rd to 35th, achieving a career-best 508 rating points following her 57 off 46 balls.

Tryon Shines in All-Round Charts

Chloe Tryon remained unbeaten on 18 in the first match and took 3/22 in the second. Her all-round performance lifted her:

  • Four slots to joint-11th among all-rounders

  • One slot to 59th among batters

  • Three spots to 38th among bowlers

Mlaba and Khaka Rise in Bowling Rankings

  • Left-arm spinner Nonkululeko Mlaba moved up to joint-sixth in the bowling rankings after figures of 1/17 in the second match at her home ground, Kingsmead.

  • Ayabonga Khaka advanced eight places to 25th after taking 3/16 in the opening game.

  • Series-leading wicket-taker Tumi Sekhukhune rocketed 23 slots to 55th with figures of 2/27 and 3/31 in the two matches.

ODI Rankings: Sharmin Akter Makes History for Bangladesh

In the ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings, Bangladesh’s Sharmin Akter has climbed seven slots to 22nd in the batting list after scoring a career-best 86 off 127 balls.

Her knock helped Bangladesh register their first-ever ODI victory over Sri Lanka in the series opener in Rajshahi. The match also marked the venue’s first-ever international fixture. Akter now boasts a personal-best 582 rating points.
