Pallekele
The rain has played spoilsport in Lanka T10 Super League that is being played at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium but the spectators finally got to witness some action on Saturday. Jaffna Titans continued their stunning show in the competition and defeated Galle Marvels by 7 wickets.
Chasing 106, Jaffna went over the line in the 9th over. It was once again the openers Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Kusal Mendis who thoroughly dominated the opponents’ bowling unit and stitched a stand of 53 runs for the first wicket in just 4.1 overs before Mendis departed for 31 off 16.
Cadmore who struck a 21-ball 32 was then joined by Charith Asalanka. Asalanka also chipped in with a brisk knock of 25 off 11 before getting out. The contributions from the three top-order batters were enough for the side to clinch a win. Earlier, Galle Marvels started off the proceedings well with the bat but lost the plot in middle overs to get reduced to 84/7 before eventually getting restricted to 105/7 in 10 overs.
