Harbhajan Singh applauds ILT20’s impact on UAE cricket ecosystem

The second season of the ILT20 commenced with a resounding 31-run victory for the Gulf Giants against the Sharjah Warriors at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Former Indian cricketer and ace off-spinner Harbhajan Singh expressed his delight on his involvement with the league as ambassador and commentator.
Whilst praising the UAE as an ideal venue to host franchise cricket, he also spoke on the tremendous value the DP World ILT20 brings to local and international cricketers towards skills demonstration and development.
Harbhajan Singh also highlighted the significance of the DP World ILT20 in strengthening the cricket ecosystem in UAE. “Similar to how the IPL has given a lot of opportunities for Indian players and we have seen many youngsters make a name for themselves through the IPL. The DP World ILT20 will help strengthen the UAE cricket team by providing local players opportunities. This will allow them to showcase their skills, while also improving on it by learning from other well-known players from across the world,” he said.
