Q: AL MAMOURAH TAILORING has built a stellar reputation across Ajman and the wider UAE. Can you share the founding story behind the brand and what inspired you to establish a tailoring powerhouse that caters to so many diverse fabric and apparel needs?
Syeda Bukhari: AL MAMOURAH TAILORING was built with a simple vision: to provide businesses with reliable, high-quality, customized uniforms under one roof.
AL MAMOURAH TAILORING is a family business that was started by my father 15 years ago, together with my mother, who is a fashion designer. What began as a passion for tailoring and fashion gradually grew into a trusted business serving customers across the UAE and beyond.
In 2020, I joined the family business and took the initiative to expand into customized uniforms and corporate workwear, with a vision of building AL MAMOURAH TAILORING into a strong and recognized name.
In 2024, my younger sister, who is a doctor, also joined me in the business. Today, we are proudly carrying forward our parents’ hard work and building their legacy together. For us, AL MAMOURAH TAILORING is not just a business—it is our family’s journey, passion, and legacy.

Dr. Mehak Bukhari: Our journey began in the UAE with a strong foundation in tailoring and garment manufacturing. Over the years, we saw that businesses were looking for more than just stitched uniforms—they needed a complete solution, from fabric selection and design development to stitching, branding, quality control, and timely delivery.
That need inspired us to grow AL MAMOURAH TAILORING into a complete uniform manufacturing and corporate workwear solutions company. Today, we serve clients across Ajman, the wider UAE, and internationally, catering to diverse industries including corporate offices, hospitality, healthcare, schools, security, restaurants, factories, and construction.

Syeda Bukhari: We have built a strong network of trusted fabric suppliers both within the UAE and internationally, which allows us to source materials according to the specific requirements and budget of each client. We offer a wide range of fabrics, from practical and cost-effective options to premium-quality materials for executive and corporate uniforms.
Our sourcing network extends to countries such as China, India, Pakistan, Malaysia, and other major textile markets, giving us access to a diverse range of fabrics, textures, finishes, and performance materials. We also specialize in uniform fabrics suitable for different working environments and industries.
Our aim is to cater to everyone—from workforce and labour-level uniforms to management, executive, and premium corporate wear. This flexibility allows us to recommend the most suitable fabric based on the customer’s requirements, usage, comfort, appearance, durability, and budget, rather than offering a one-size-fits-all solution.

Q: Behind every great garment is meticulous craftsmanship. Could you take us behind the scenes of your workshop? How do your master tailors balance traditional tailoring techniques with modern apparel technology?
Dr. Mehak Bukhari: At AL MAMOURAH TAILORING, we believe the best results come from combining skilled craftsmanship with modern technology. Our master tailors bring years of experience and traditional tailoring knowledge, while our workshop is equipped with advanced machinery that helps us achieve greater precision, consistency, and efficiency.
We use modern automatic stitching and cutting machines, overlock machines, collar and cuff pressing equipment, piping machines, and specialized machinery for bags and other garment components. Our computerized embroidery machines allow us to reproduce company logos with precision, while our modern printing facilities support DTF, heat-transfer, and sublimation printing.
Technology helps us improve speed and accuracy, but craftsmanship remains at the heart of what we do. Our experienced team ensures that every garment is properly fitted, finished, and quality-checked. This balance between traditional expertise and modern innovation allows us to deliver customized uniforms that meet the standards of today’s diverse businesses.

Syeda Bukhari: Being based in Ajman has played an important role in the growth and operations of AL MAMOURAH TAILORING. Ajman has a well-established textile and manufacturing ecosystem, giving us convenient access to a wide network of fabric suppliers, garment-related businesses, factories, and skilled technicians.
For our business, this accessibility is particularly valuable because our production involves specialized machinery that requires regular technical support and maintenance. Having technicians and related service providers readily available helps us keep our operations running efficiently.

Dr. Mehak Bukhari: At Al Mamourah Tailoring, we stay updated by continuously monitoring global fashion, corporate uniform, and sportswear trends. We follow new fabric technologies, colours, cuts, and functional designs through international fashion and sportswear platforms, supplier updates, and customer feedback.
Our design and production team then adapts these trends to suit the UAE climate, industry requirements, comfort, and practicality. We focus not only on making uniforms look modern, but also on ensuring they are comfortable, durable, functional, and suitable for everyday work.
Because we handle the complete process—from fabric selection and design development to stitching, branding, and quality control—we can quickly introduce new ideas and customize them according to each client’s requirements. This allows us to keep our collections fresh and contemporary while maintaining the quality and practicality our customers expect.

Dr. Mehak Bukhari: Yes, environmental responsibility is becoming increasingly important in the uniform and clothing industry, and at Al Mamourah Tailoring, we are taking practical steps in this direction.
We focus on minimizing fabric waste through better pattern planning and efficient cutting during production. We also try to optimize fabric usage when developing customized designs, which helps reduce unnecessary material wastage.
Where suitable for the client’s requirements and budget, we also explore more sustainable fabric options and materials. Our approach is to balance environmental responsibility with durability, comfort, performance, and affordability—especially because uniforms are designed for regular and long-term use.
We believe sustainability is a continuous process, and we are actively looking for more ways to reduce waste and introduce environmentally responsible materials and production practices into our business.

Q: When you look at the thousands of students, athletes, and individuals wearing AL MAMOURAH apparel across the region daily, what goes through your mind, and what do you consider your proudest achievement so far?
Syeda Bukhari: When I see students, athletes, professionals, and individuals wearing apparel made by Al Mamourah Tailoring, I feel a deep sense of pride and gratitude. It reminds me that what started as a business has grown into something that becomes part of people’s everyday lives.
For me, the proudest achievement is not simply the number of uniforms we have produced. It is the trust that customers have placed in us and the relationships we have built over the years. Seeing our work being worn across different organizations, schools, companies, and communities tells me that we are contributing something meaningful.
Every uniform carries the name and identity of an organization, so we take that responsibility seriously. Knowing that our work represents our customers every day is what motivates me to keep improving Al Mamourah Tailoring and aim for an even bigger impact in the future.
Dr. Mehak Bukhari: I would add that for me, the proudest achievement is seeing our parents’ hard work come full circle. My father started this business 15 years ago with nothing but skill and determination, and today, his daughters are carrying it forward and growing it. That, to me, is the real success—not just in numbers, but in the legacy we are building together as a family.
The Road Ahead
Q: As we look ahead, what is the next big milestone for AL MAMOURAH TAILORING? Are there plans for regional expansion, retail storefronts, or digital e-commerce platforms to take the brand beyond Ajman?
Syeda Bukhari: Looking ahead, our next big milestone is to take Al Mamourah Tailoring beyond the UAE and establish a strong presence across the GCC.
Today, we have two branches—our oldest branch in Ras Al Khaimah, which my father started 15 years ago, and our second branch in Ajman. For me, seeing the business grow from my father’s first branch into two locations is already a very meaningful achievement.
Now, my sisters and I want to take that journey to the next level. Our vision is to build Al Mamourah Tailoring into a wider regional network, with more branches across the UAE and eventually throughout the GCC.
I personally love living in the UAE, and I would love to see Al Mamourah grow into a recognized name across the country while also expanding regionally. Whether through physical branches, corporate partnerships, or digital platforms, our goal is to make our customized uniform and workwear solutions accessible to more businesses and organizations across the GCC.
For us, this is not just about opening more branches—it is about continuing the legacy my father started 15 years ago and building something even bigger for the next generation.
Dr. Mehak Bukhari: I completely agree with Syeda.
