2025 ADT10: Vista Riders defend 109 as Ashraf shuts out Royal Champs

~ Ben McDermott and Dwaine Pretorius shine with the bat, but Riders’ bowlers script a composed defence ~

Abu Dhabi, : The second encounter of the day at the 2025 Abu Dhabi T10 saw the Vista Riders seal a 9-run win over the Royal Champs at the Zayed Cricket Stadium. Vista Riders posted 109/7 thanks to impactful cameos from Ben McDermott (31 off 16) and Dwaine Pretorius (31 off 12), after an early wobble triggered by Haider Razzaq’s three-wicket burst.

McDermott stabilised the innings during a shaky middle phase, while Pretorius provided the late acceleration that proved crucial in a low-scoring contest. In reply, the Royal Champs looked on course during a blistering 50-run stand between Jason Roy and Brandon McMullen, who took them to 67/3 inside six overs.

But the game turned sharply as Sharafuddin Ashraf and Andrew Tye claimed three wickets each, breaking the chase open. With 17 needed off the final over, Ashraf delivered a composed finish, conceding only seven to seal a nine-run win.

Moeen Ali blitz lifts Ajman Titans to 107 after early collapse

~ Titans recover from a top-order slide as Ali dominates with a 19-ball fifty ~

Ajman Titans recovered from 12/3 to post 107/7 almost single-handedly through a stunning Moeen Ali assault. Walking in during a top-order slide created by Abbas Afridi, K.B. Tanveer and Jason Holder, Ali counterattacked fearlessly with 59 off 21 balls, hitting four fours and six sixes.

His 19-ball fifty, including three consecutive sixes in the final over, transformed the innings from crisis to competitiveness. Chris Green offered brief support, but Moeen Ali’s acceleration changed everything. Even as wickets fell, he powered the Titans from 42/5 to a competitive 107/7, capped by three consecutive sixes to reach a 19-ball fifty.

Please note: In the second fixture, only the first-innings action was completed at the time this press release was issued.
