The ministry has recorded 60,582 wounded as a result of the continuous Israeli attacks.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile Mads Gilbert, a physician who has worked in Gaza, talking to Al Jazeera, said today\u2019s milestone is an opportunity to recognize the health workers who continue to put their lives in danger.<\/p>\n<p>He said it is a day to salute the very brave Palestinian healthcare workers, the doctors, the nurses, the paramedics, the medical students all over Gaza who have risked and are risking their lives to alleviating the suffering of the people of the area.<\/p>\n<p>According to the United Nations some 1.87 million Palestinians, over 80 percent of Gaza\u2019s population, have left their homes because of the Israeli bombardment of the besieged enclave.<\/p>\n<p>In November Qatar helped broker weeklong cease-fire of the Gaza war during which 106 Israeli captives and 240 Palestinian prisoners were freed.<\/p>\n<p>The Israeli raids have almost destroyed entire neighborhoods in northern Gaza.
