Pallekele
Hambantota Bangla Tigers defeated Nuwara Eliya Kings by 7 wickets in a low-scoring contest. The Kings had handed Bangla Tigers a target of 83 which they chased down in 7.1 overs. Hambantota lost an early wicket after opener Mohammad Shahzad was out on the very first ball of the innings but Kusal Perera anchored the chase and ended up scoring 33 off 15. Apart from him, Dasun Shanaka scored 20 off 10 while Shevon Daniel remained not out at 17 off 12 and Sabbir Rahman struck an unbeaten 5-ball 11.
Nuwara Eliya Kings were earlier rattled by Richard Gleeson who scalped three wickets in just one over and eventually returned with figures of 3/23 in 2 overs. Captain Saurabh Tiwary (26 off 20) and Benny Howell (29 off 14) tried to get things back on track but the side could only manage 82/6 in 10 overs.
The first match between Colombo Jaguars and Kandy Bolts was abandoned without toss due to rain.
